Last weekend Suzen and I had the pleasure of visiting Madava Farms in Dutchess Country, New York, to see a "syrup chateau" and enjoy the finest in maple syrup products. We actually did a maple syrup tasting, beginning with maple sugar, then light syrup, then darker, then the darkest and then, in that back row, bourbon maple syrup. You'll love the bourbon.

The story of Madava, and of America's long love affair with maple syrup, is one you will enjoy. I have a long post on Huffington with the whole tale and you can see it right here.

You can visit Madava on the weekends, sample the syrups, eat maple-inspired treats in the cafe, and probably take home some bottles of great, great maple syrup. It's a fun, fall afternoon idea. There's far, far more that you can do than panackes. Although, pancakes are a very good start!
