Corporate Events...

Corporations have CBTB events for multiple reasons— from team building to strategy sessions to motivating a team approaching its next hurdle. For corporate team building, a CBTB event can be customized to address the challenges of any team.

Goals for Team building in the Kitchen

The kitchen is a familiar, yet powerful, environment for simulating real world challenges and the perfect venue for team building activities. The format may be competitive — like an Iron Chef style cook-off — or an orchestrated collaboration that strengthens the cohesiveness of the entire team. Team building in the kitchen is designed to:

  • Foster open communication
  • Teach thoughtful resource allocation
  • Encourage successful risk taking.

Benefits...

Successful culinary team building offers activities that help every team identify both strengths and weaknesses, then offers strategies for improving productivity and effectiveness. The versatile adaptability of the kitchen permits the program facilitators to address a wide range of issues, including communication barriers, resource allocation and conflict resolution.

An important benefit of the culinary team building experience is heightened camaraderie. Barriers fall and new bridges of friendship rise.

How...

Our premise is simple: use the kitchen as a learning environment. Small groups from your firm — corporate executives, management teams, sales and marketing teams — work together in our kitchen to create a gourmet meal, then sit down together and enjoy it. Challenges to the group’s creativity, communication, cooperation and time/resource management are presented in the kitchen and their progress in meeting those challenges results in a delicious success.

Activities...

CBTB offers a variety of team building activities. Our signature Team Builder lets your group create and enjoy a wonderful meal. In the kitchen, they will learn more about food, about each other, and enhance their skills at communicating and sharing.

Our Team Builder Plus program adds some twists to challenge your team and to teach them new skills that will boost their productivity. Each activity has been developed to focus on key issues that confront every team:

  • Short Order Cook: How to do a lot of things all at once
  • Hand Off: How to begin an activity, then pass it to the next team
  • Divide and Conquer: How to allocate and coordinate tasks
  • Market Basket Challenge: How to manage resources [Please take a look at our page describing this program]
