Brian
I have the same formal culinary training that most of you do: none. But I love food and I love writing about it. So I’ll be contributing to the blog here with Suzi.
I was trained as a physicist and mathematician. I’ve worked for the Defense Department, Wall Street, insurance companies, and the phone company. Okay, I have not made the best choices in my life.
I am still a techy, now working on computer models to predict the effects of hurricanes and earthquakes. I’m actually trying to help people now. After a day of catastrophe modeling, I need to unwind and food is my outlet.
Suzi and I both love to cook and we have complimentary passions. I adore beverages, appetizers, and desserts. Suzi is the leader on soups, main courses, healthy side dishes, and incredible breads. She is much more disciplined that I am in the kitchen. On the other hand, I’m the person who will whip up a cocktail that takes your breath but leaves a smile.
Actually, my ambition when I retire is to open up a B&B: a bar and brownie establishment.
I write my blog entries here hoping to inform and entertain. I’ve learned from Suzi that great food is something that we can all create. The blogs here will help you find the books and recipes that let you put a smile on your own face. Please feel free to comment back to Suzi and me or forward our reviews to others who might enjoy them.
If you see a techy looking guy leafing through the cookbooks at Borders or Barnes & Noble, it might be me. I’d love to hear your ideas, too.
